Cosmetic Acupuncture

‘Cosmetic’ acupuncture is the latest weapon in the anti-ageing war, and a favourite among stars such as Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston.

Cosmetic acupuncture can help to reduce wrinkles, eliminate fine lines, lift sagging skin and improve skin colour and texture. Its effects can last for about three months, and it only takes about 45 minutes, depending on a client’s individual needs. Cosmetic acupuncture is not just the latest fad or the new thing on the market. It has, in fact, been practised in China for thousands of years. Cosmetic Acupuncture can be used as a preventative for ageing.

We recommend ten sessions for maximum benefit from the treatment, dependent on the maturity of the skin. At £45 a session, facial acupuncture isn’t cheap, but compared to Botox being a more invasive treatment, cosmetic acupuncture offers much more than a facial enhancing treatment.

Needles are placed in certain parts of the face to encourage a positive reaction. The needles used for facial acupuncture are extremely fine and not at all like the needles used for injections or blood tests. Compared to normal acupuncture needles, they are even thinner. Some people will feel a very slight tingling or warmth to the face, and this is desirable. However, the overall effect of a session of facial acupuncture is very relaxing.
