The Bowen Technique
-
The
Bowen Technique is unique in the field of bodywork. It’s, gentle "moves" over
muscle and other soft tissue address the whole body, stimulating
it to reset and heal itself. The healing may occur at all levels
as needed: physical, chemical, emotional, mental, energetic, etc.

What to expect from a Bowen treatment
-
A Bowtech session consists of several series of gentle moves
through light-weight clothing (or on skin). The client usually lies
on a bed or bodywork table or, for comfort, or in a chair. However, Bowtech
can be done anywhere -- on the sports field, in a hospital room,
at the site of an accident, on an airplane or train.
A session may last from fifteen minutes to an hour. Most often, a
surprisingly few sessions are needed to alleviate complaints, whether
structural or functional, even if long-standing. And the results
hold for a long time, generally until there is a re-injury.
Many people don’t find out about Bowtech until weeks, months, or
even years of trying other approaches or “learning to live with
it.”
Your practitioner will ask you about your health history and reason
for the visit so as to find out if there are any moves or procedures
that are contraindicated for you, the best procedures to apply, how
much of the work your body is likely to be able to assimilate without overloading
you.
The hands-on work usually lasts between 15 and 45 minutes.
The pressure used by the practitioner is almost always less than
you would expect. Application of the technique involves stimulation
of precise points on the body, in groups of 2 - 8 points at a time.
Your practitioner will leave the room between groups of moves, to allow
your body time to assimilate the work.
Points generally progress from the torso/core of the body outward.
In most first sessions, the points used are on the back, buttocks,
hamstrings, shoulder, neck, and knees. Additional points may be
added in areas where you have symptoms and/or elsewhere throughout
the body.
The most common reaction to Bowtech is a deep sense of overall relaxation
and lessening of muscular tension and pain. These results from the
body are balancing and improved flow of internal energy. The restorative
process begins once the body is relaxed. It is common for people
to fall asleep during a session.

Reiki
-
A Reiki Treatment is a light, hands on process whereby a Reiki
practitioner transfers universal fife energy to the recipient, whether
that is to the body of another person, or any living thing, or into
the practitioner's own body. A Reiki treatment is safe, non-intrusive
and non-manipulative. There are no substances applied to the body,
and the recipient remains fully clothed. During a full Reiki treatment,
the practitioner directs healing energy to several areas of the head, the
upper body (from neck to pelvic area), and the back. While focus is given
to the body's major organs, every cell of the body will benefit. In addition
to the formal positions, Reiki can be applied to any part of the
body which has been injured. Reiki can be transmitted at a distance.
Reiki can relieve pain and acute symptoms quite rapidly while more
chronic problems may require more extensive treatment. Length of
treatment depends upon the root cause of the problem and the amount
of energy needed to revitalize and bring into balance the ailing
area of the body or emotional issue. |
